We are pleased to be hosting an exhibition of work by Stan Miklose, who was the owner of Down Home Health Foods. On display will be original paintings that have been described as 'abstractions under a veil of constructionism reflecting his unique view of the world'. Limited edition prints of the originals will be available at the gallery. Stan's paintings will be on display for the entire month of May with a reception on the 18th during Second Saturday's Art Walk in Mendocino from 4-7pm. Join certified yoga instructor Delphine Davidson for All-Levels Mindful Flow Yoga encircled by towering cypress and the melodies of nature... the birds, the bees, and the mighty ocean. All levels are welcome in this class, which combines Delphine's in-depth knowledge of safe alignment with dynamic movement. Mindful Yoga combines creative sequencing with Delphine's love of classical yoga. You’ll find restorative moments and snapshots of sculpting intensity. This 60-minute class aims to support you in slowing down, tuning into your intuition, cultivating physical health and psychological well-being using postures (asanas) and breathing techniques (pranayama) with the goal of developing a grounded, focused, and peaceful mind.
THE DETAILSThis class will be held outdoors, so please be prepared for the weather with appropriate layers.Rain, soggy conditions, or temperatures below 40°F cancel – check this web page or the Facebook event for cancelation notices. Please bring your own mat, all props you like to practice with, a towel, sunscreen, and drinking water. There are a limited number of yoga mats available to borrow.Plan to arrive at the Gardens' entrance by 11:30AM to allow plenty of time to reach the Event Lawn, the class will begin promptly at noon.To reach the Event Lawn stay on the South Trail (veer left) and breeze past the Dahlia Garden, you will arrive at the Event Lawn in a flash
Tennessee Williams’ poignant drama, "The Glass Menagerie", will show at the Willits Community Theatre April 12 through 28. The award-winning play delves into the fragile dynamics of a mother and her two children, haunted by the memory of an absent father and their struggle to escape their suffocating circumstances. Shows will be on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sunday matinees at 2:00pm. Tickets are $20 and available at the door or online at: www.wctperformingartscenter.org.

Mendocino Coast Jazz Society Jam Sessions Monday evenings, at the “Tall Guy Brewery” in Fort Bragg. The new brewery / brew pub is located on Franklin Street, across from City Hall in the old Sears Bld.
The proceedings begin at 5:00, with a dance lesson with Al, Mary, Sunshine and Glenn, for those so inclined.At 6:00 we start the live music, and play till 9:00. The brew pub has beer, wine and bar bites. All ages are welcome, and admission will be free.
The Jazz Society will make sure we have a swingin’ rhythm section, and we will be collecting donations to defray the cost.

Check out local artist and Redwood Coast Senior Center participant Ann Erickson's artwork featured in the Hallway Gallery at 490 N Harold St. in Fort Bragg. Her work is for sale and will be on display through June, as a benefit for the Senior Center. She works in watercolor, acrylic, and oil and has a lovely selection of landscapes on display. The program goal is to create a pipeline for underserved food operators through teaching valuable business skills, nurturing peer awareness and mentorship opportunities, providing additional workforce development and skill building for individuals with high barriers to employment, and offering diverse avenues to access and providing quality food and produce from local producers.In this 5 part series, participants will:
- Develop their business story and mission - Understand the region-specific regulations and licensing requirements- Review budgeting & accounting principles for budget creation- Learn how the mission and business story tie directly into the best marketing and branding- Learn the ingredients needed to for growth while maintaining the business
$150.00 stipends available to the first 20 Mendocino and Lake County Residents. These sessions are being offered in ENGLISH and will be capped at 20 people.
Focusing on the 40-plus-year history of the Krenov School of Fine Woodworking in Fort Bragg, this exhibit shares the story of how a remarkable institution came to be. The philosophy and practice that made James Krenov a master woodworker and teacher is explored, along with examples of his own work and fine furniture made by instructors and graduates of the program.
