NOW HIRING: KZYX GENERAL MANAGER/DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS and Public Affairs Director

Our Mission

KZYX public radio serves the community of 90,000 residents of Mendocino County in beautiful Northern California. Mendocino County Public Broadcasting (MCPB) is the 501(c)(3) that operates KZYX. We are news, information, culture, and entertainment from around the globe and from just around the corner. We are member-supported community radio, with locally produced programs from nearly 100 friends and neighbors who are volunteer programmers and with nationally syndicated programs from NPR, PRI, APM and Pacifica. When there are fires, road closures, or other emergencies, we're the place to go on the radio dial for emergency information. KZYX also streams via kzyx.org.

KZYX/MCPB GENERAL MANAGER & DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

We are seeking a strong, experienced leader for the position of General Manager and Director of Operations for KZYX Public Radio and Mendocino County Public Broadcasting. Requirements include three years of radio experience and demonstrated core competencies in personnel management; state-of-the-art technical operations; member, underwriter and donor development and retention; budget planning, oversight and KPI reporting; marketing best practices; and a proven ability to lead effectively in a complex, fast-moving environment. Outstanding oral and written communication skills are also a must. Additional experience in journalism, grant management, and non-profit membership association management is highly desirable.

The position is to begin on June 15, 2025. Salary: $69,000 to $80,000 plus benefits, dependent upon experience.
