Training Resources
KZYX Programmers are volunteers who bring unique and exceptional programming to our listeners from all across the County. With three satellite studios alongside our main "mothership" (currently in Philo but moving to Ukiah 2025), programmers undergo several training sessions before gaining the privilege of being on the air.
We have two types of volunteer programmers: public affairs and music. Shows range from local politics and discussions to the far reaches of musical genres. Depending on your interest, the first step in training is to contact either our music director or public affairs director (see Contact Us).
You will be asked to complete a Programmer Application, pre-record a short audio file demonstrating your show and current abilities, and if approved, meet 2-3 times depending on your technical ability for in-person training at one of our studios nearest you.
Retraining and training updates are available via our Operations Department and via the KZYX YouTube Channel.
