Adults are invited to join us for a SoulCollage© workshop at the Ukiah Branch Library on Saturday, July 11 at 3 p.m. SoulCollage© is a simple, creative, and fun activity. It can be used as a tool for self-discovery, leading to greater self-acceptance and empowerment. In SoulCollage© you need no art experience or skill, just intuition to choose the images that appeal. Then, with your guidance, we explore what the card may mean to you. All supplies will be provided. Leslie Kirkpatrick and Dorothy Gayle Haas are experienced facilitators. Gayle trained as a SoulCollage© facilitator with Seena Frost, the originator of SoulCollage© in 2010.

Paint Your Own Pizza Plate at Slam Dunk Pizza 🍕

Join us for a fun and creative evening of pizza, pottery, and community at Slam Dunk Pizza in Ukiah!

In this special Paint-Your-Own Pottery event, you’ll customize your very own ceramic pizza plate—perfect for serving homemade pizzas, displaying in your kitchen, or gifting to your favorite pizza lover. Whether you’re an experienced artist or haven’t picked up a paintbrush in years, we’ll provide everything you need to create a piece that’s uniquely yours.

After the event, we’ll take your plate back to The Clay Pot Ceramics Studio to be professionally clear glazed and kiln fired, making it food-safe and ready for years of pizza nights to come.

The 33rd annual Art in the Gardens returns to Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens on Saturday, August 1, and Sunday, August 2, bringing together creative expression, peak summer blooms, and coastal beauty for one unforgettable weekend on the Mendocino Coast.

During this major summer fundraiser, the Gardens transform into a vibrant open-air celebration featuring more than 50 artists showcasing ceramics, jewelry, photography, woodwork, and more. The heart of the celebration takes place on the Event Lawn, where guests can enjoy live music and entertainment all weekend long. This year’s lineup includes performances by Mama Grows Funk, SHUGA, Circus Mecca, La Onda, the Wendy DeWitt Trio, and more artists to be announced. Visitors can also savor offerings from local food vendors alongside craft brews and a curated selection of local wines available by the glass or through a wine tasting experience with a complimentary glass included.

Beyond the Event Lawn, sculptures dot the landscape while sweeping Pacific views and spectacular dahlia displays create a stunning backdrop throughout the weekend. Guests can wander from artist booths to garden paths, and ocean overlooks, taking in seasonal highlights including dazzling dahlias, begonias, vibrant perennials, and the Gardens’ organic demonstration vegetable garden. Both festive and relaxed, Art in the Gardens offers something for all ages—from art lovers and gardeners to families looking for a memorable summer weekend on the coast.

A beloved community tradition and key fundraiser, proceeds support the nonprofit Gardens’ mission to conserve plants and create meaningful connections between people, plants, and place.
