Elections are coming this November! Find out all you need to know about the candidates and issues from KZYX.

  • All four First District Supervisor candidates, plus Chris Coulombe, Second District congressional candidate, took questions from students and voters in the library of the Potter Valley High School library on Thursday, Feb. 22. The event was organized and hosted by the students.
  • Candidates took questions at a February 15 forum in the City Council chambers in Ukiah. Lois Lockhart began with a land acknowledgment.
  • Every voter in Mendocino County received a Republican ballot for the first supervisorial district this week. Assessor-Clerk Recorder Katrina Bartolomie said her office first learned of it Wednesday, when voters on the coast began calling her office. Many voters in the rest of the county received their ballots Thursday, but no public communication took place until a press release was issued at 4:30 on Thursday afternoon. KZYX spoke with Bartolomie Friday morning.
  • First District Supervisor candidate Carrie Shattuck joined Sarah Reith live in the Talmage studio.
  • First District Supervisor Candidate Madeline Cline stopped by the Talmage studio on February 7 for a live interview with Sarah Reith and listener questions.
  • As sample ballots arrive, candidates for the Board of Supervisors and the Second District Assembly seats are hitting the forums hard. On Friday, Fourth District Supervisor candidates Georgina Avila Gorman and Fort Bragg Mayor Bernie Norvell faced off at a League of Women Voters forum in city hall. Avila Gorman was unfamiliar with many of the issues, while Norvell repeatedly invoked his experience and the relationships he has established as mayor.
  • First District Supervisor candidate Adam Gaska spent an hour in the Talmage studio for an interview with Sarah Reith, plus caller questions.
  • All seven candidates competing for Jim Wood's seat in California's Second Assembly District joined KZYX, KMUD, and MendoFever on January 30 for a two-hour forum. Sarah Reith and Matthew LaFever moderated.
  • Fourth District Supervisor candidate Georgina Avila Gorman came by the Philo studio on January 22 for a live interview with Sarah Reith and listener questions.
  • Maureen Mulheren, incumbent Second District Supervisor, is running for re-election. She joined us for a live interview with caller questions on January 16.
