Mendocino County voters cast ballots in favor of bonds for school facilities, water, wildfire, and land protection in larger percentages than the state average. They were strongly enthusiastic about raising the minimum wage — a proposition that failed to gather support from more than half the electorate and they were less likely to support increased penalties for certain kinds of theft and drug crimes, though they still passed Proposition 36.
The most popular proposition in Mendocino County was Proposition 35, in favor a tax on health care insurance to fund Medi-Cal, which received 27,154 votes in favor — significantly more than the 24,049 votes Kamala Harris received. The second most popular proposition was Proposition 3, the constitutional right to same sex marriage, which received 25,895 votes.
