Lindon A. Duke was elected to the Covelo Fire Protection District. Leeann G. Durham, and Cindy Nelson were re-elected. Leeann Durham received 258 votes or 24.98%, Lindon Duke received 264 votes or 25.56%, and Cindy Nelson received 188 votes or 18.20%.

Bryant Earl Hale received 167 votes or 16.17%
Edward Wilson received 156 votes or 15.10%

Five candidates competed for three seats. Preliminary results showed the following:
- Lindon A. Duke, an assistant grocery manager, received 109 votes or 28.39%
- Leanne Durham, an incumbent, received 92 votes or 23.96%
- Edward Wilson, a volunteer fire fighter, received 71 votes, or 18.49%
- Cindy Nelson, an incumbent, received 58 votes or 15.510%
- Bryant Earl Hale, a maintenance worker, received 54 votes, or 14.06%
