Redwood Coast Seniors in Fort Bragg invites you to Wake Up & Walk Wednesdays, starting November 8th!Meet in the Lobby at 8:30am for $1 muffins and cups of coffee.Walk begins at 9am.
Focusing on the 40-plus-year history of the Krenov School of Fine Woodworking in Fort Bragg, this exhibit shares the story of how a remarkable institution came to be. The philosophy and practice that made James Krenov a master woodworker and teacher is explored, along with examples of his own work and fine furniture made by instructors and graduates of the program.
In April Partners is presenting an invitational show featuring four Mendocino Coast artists and teachers.Solange Roberdeau expresses her love of the character of materials including the beauty of raw ink, handmade papers and metal in her spare abstract drawings.Exploring the content of a drop of coastal water, Sarah Logan creates hand-formedceramic sculptures that resonate her appreciation of the unseen aspects of our natural world. Working with painted images of ocean waves and silver and gold pen drawing, Rebecca Wallace creates paintings that suggest glimpses into invisible realms, metaphysical realities and internal landscapes. Collyn Ahrens uses stoneware and porcelain to create bust sculptures and other ceramic forms to investigate animacy and the desire to see oneself in material.Ahrens and Logan were both artists in residence at the Mendocino Art Center and both teach ceramics at the coast center of Mendocino College. Roberdeau teaches at Art Explorers and the Ukiah campus of the Mendocino College. Wallace teaches at Mendocino Junior College.

We are pleased to be hosting an exhibition of work by Stan Miklose, who was the owner of Down Home Health Foods. On display will be original paintings that have been described as 'abstractions under a veil of constructionism reflecting his unique view of the world'. Limited edition prints of the originals will be available at the gallery. Stan's paintings will be on display for the entire month of May with a reception on the 18th during Second Saturday's Art Walk in Mendocino from 4-7pm. The Fort Bragg Certified Farmers Market is open every Wednesday year round. We are outdoors on the 400 block of North Franklin. In very wet weather we will be inside the Old Rec Center Gym- right behind city hall, entrance is on Laurel. Our hours are 2:30-4:30. Every vendor grows or produces the products they offer locally. Mendocino Coast Jazz Society Jam Sessions Monday evenings, at the “Tall Guy Brewery” in Fort Bragg. The new brewery / brew pub is located on Franklin Street, across from City Hall in the old Sears Bld.
The proceedings begin at 5:00, with a dance lesson with Al, Mary, Sunshine and Glenn, for those so inclined.At 6:00 we start the live music, and play till 9:00. The brew pub has beer, wine and bar bites. All ages are welcome, and admission will be free.
The Jazz Society will make sure we have a swingin’ rhythm section, and we will be collecting donations to defray the cost.

The Queen of Boogie Woogie Wendy DeWitt with drummer Kirk Harwood (Norton Buffalo), bass player Pierre Archain (San Francisco Jazz legend) and seasoned guitarists David Baas and John Powers host weekly guests for a night of blues and boogie dancing, listening and enjoying friends. Mendocino County's home of the blues is the place for meeting friends, great jamming, dancing and enjoying a tasty menu of excellent burgers, dogs and more, including vegetarian choices. Oak and Thorn Presents Rachel Hair and Ron Jappy in a benefit concert for KZYX at the Little River Inn. Doors open at 6:30PM, and the music starts at 7:30PM.
Take the oldest Scottish instrument, the clarsach (harp), and the newest addition to the traditional music arsenal, the guitar, and throw them in the musical blender of Glasgow and out comes Rachel Hair and Ron Jappy. Superb instrumentalists with a shared passion for traditional tunes, they perform as if sharing one mind.
