The Ukiah Branch Library invites families and folks of all ages to visit our reading station at the Ukiah Farmer’s Market every Saturday May through October in 2025! This longstanding, volunteer-run program provides an hour of age-appropriate read-alouds to market goers from 10 – 11 a.m., weather permitting. We hope to see you there!

Please note that rain and/or temperatures exceeding 95 degrees Fahrenheit will cancel that Saturday’s Farmer’s Market Reading Time.

Weekly Protest: Stand Up for Our Rights

This is a peaceful protest. We're gathering to say NO to the erosion of civil rights and human rights and the loss of critical government functions. NO to unconstitutional deportations. NO to the destruction of social security. NO to authoritarianism! Please stay on the sidewalk and avoid blocking entrances, exits, or traffic. Bring a sign, a friend, and your enthusiasm! And when you can, spend a little money at our local downtown businesses. We will keep up this joyful resistance until the rule of law is restored and the assault on the US Constitution ends. Join us! This 8-week group provides an opportunity to learn the symptoms of grief, as well as to recognize the individual nature of its expression and duration. With a fuller understanding of the grief process and effective ways to cope, we can find meaning and move forward. This is a closed group with a maximum of 8 participants. Event Details: The film will start at 6:30 pm, and ticket holders will be admitted at 5:00 pm. The Spaceballs Dinner will be served from 5:00 - 6:30 pm and can be ordered on arrival. A limited amount of Reserved Tables – including tickets and more – can be booked; see below for details. A concession stand will be available for the duration of the film with popcorn, cheesy snacks, and beverages for purchase. NO outside food, drink, or coolers/ice chests are allowed.

Film Details: When the nefarious Dark Helmet hatches a plan to snatch Princess Vespa and steal her planet's air, space-bum-for-hire Lone Starr and his clueless sidekick fly to the rescue. Hey there: Are you a wanna- be gardener, but have no yard, or place to cultivate a garden/vegi garden ,or exercise that passion? Well look no further, then to our very own Community Garden here in" Happy Willits," located next to the Recreation Grove; (adjacent to the Social Service Dept.) A Non Profit Project. With once a year fee (like renting a plot) grow whatever you want, but must commit for a year, no abandoning it. Serious gardeners welcomed. There's limited spaces-sign ups begin in March.
