Sept 15, 2025 - MCPB/KZYX received an unexpected and very welcome $175,000 donation last week. This show of support comes from an anonymous donor or group of donors whose stated intention in making the gift is to ensure rural public radio stations like ours can continue to broadcast and serve their communities.

September 10, 2025 - The September 8th meeting focused on potential changes to the planning and zoning codes that would ease regulations for businesses looking to start up or expand in Fort Bragg. The report was commissioned by the City from Marie Jones, a land-use and planning consultant, who is under contract with Fort Bragg. There were six primary elements to the plan. Of the six suggestions in the plan, only one will return to the council for discussion and approval. The other five suggestions will go to the planning commission or the community development committee for further study.

Local NewsJune 15, 2025 — Saturday's demonstrations in support of constitutional goverment drew record crowds in Ukiah and Fort Bragg with crowd estimates pegging both protests at a minimum of 1,500 attendees. Video footage and photographs suggested that Fort Bragg was the bigger of the two events. The protests were also well attended in places like Booneville, Gualala and Point Arena. Attendees reported a peaceful, upbeat atmosphere as old friends from around the county reconnected with each other and with the knowledge that political power in a democracy resides with the people. Indivisible was the lead organizer.
