Flynn Creek Circus Presents ‘The Cricket & the Wren’: a highly original, all-human circus that enchants through breathtaking acrobatics and athletically stunning skill. Sponsored by the City of Mendocino.Mendocino, CA— July 2-12– This 2026 season, Flynn Creek Circus invites audiences to ‘The Cricket & the Wren’ — memorable family fun and Artful athleticism under the circus big top.A merchant’s daughter sets out to find the castle where the horizon meets the sea. In order to break the spell of the Frog Prince, she must brave a harrowing journey filled with wonder.Along the adventure, she encounters Jack and the Beanstalk’s sassy cow, an out of pocket Pirate and the secret sacrifice of the cricket and the wren. Featuring aerialists, jugglers, knife throwers, and laugh out loud comedy, this circus blends classic storybook archetypes with imaginative new heroes. The Cricket and the Wren will surprise, dazzle and delight all ages. In addition to the family friendly showings, and the interactive children's camp program held under the circus big top, Flynn Creek Circus also presents the wildly popular 'Adults Only Show' boasting outrageous acts, dark comedy, and an infamous party atmosphere. Spectators for all showings are invited to the tent to experience the magic up to 30 minutes before each show. The event will offer beer, wine, and light concession for purchase and include a 15 minute intermission during the two hour show.
Limited free parking is available on location at Friendship Park998 School St, Mendocino, CA 95460 off of Hwy 1.

Any child can come to Dana Gray Elementary School (1197 Chestnut Street) to receive a FREE BREAKFAST and/or a FREE LUNCH from June 10 through July 9. Breakfast is served 8:00-8:30 a.m. and Lunch is served 11:00-11:45 a.m. Mondays through Fridays. Kids can just drop in during service time. We’re happy to accommodate groups of children. If you are bringing a group please call the kitchen in the morning and leave a message saying how many will come, so they’ll have plenty ready for you 961-3648.Free meals are only available to minors during the dates and times listed.Meals are provided by Fort Bragg Unified School District and USDA. Art Explorers will present HERE WE ARE: Disability Pride in California, a group exhibition featuring artwork from progressive art studios across the state. Throughout the month, the studio will also host presentations and talks by artists and advocates to increase visibility and awareness within our community. The exhibition will culminate in a closing party on July 24th from 4 – 7pm, with a special guest speaker followed by a dance party at the Art Explorers studio. Here is a list of our programming:

This is a great way to learn about what is being offered in our county.

Mendocino Dance Project is offering free weekly dance classes for people with Parkinson's, their family members, and caregivers. Classes offer healthy and fun ways to build strength, coordination, balance, and stability all while using creativity and imagery to inspire movement. This program is made possible in part by The Community Foundation of Mendocino County’s 2025 Fund for Healthy and Inclusive Communities Grant.

Travel back in time and down the aisle at the Kelley House Museum during “Tying the Knot: Bridal Fashion Unveiled.” Featuring archival photographs, artwork, and historic wedding dresses worn by Mendocino brides from the mid-1860s to 1914, this exhibit showcases evolving trends in bridal styles: from a woman’s “Sunday best” dress to sequins and lace, from bright colors to pure white. You’ll even learn about a few Mendocino love stories along the way. Exhibit runs June 4, 2026 – August 31, 2026.
