The team from MCAVHN Care & Prevention Network will focus on current substance abuse trends in our youth. They will emphasize the use of prescription drugs, specifically opioids and Xylaxine, a new drug that is having devastating consequences. All three presenters have been working in the mental health, alcohol and other drugs and homelessness prevention field for 10-15 years. Aurelie has her Master's in Social Work, and Joe is working toward his AOD certification. All three presenters bring their own lived experience and wisdom regarding addiction while helping countless others on the healing journey. The MCAVHN House provides services and support to persons affected by substance use disorders and behavioral health conditions.
