Mendocino boasts a long history of political and social activism, and the Kelley House Museum’s latest exhibit showcases the powerful art that has demanded change across the eras. Marvel at the artistry behind historic posters for women’s suffrage, the Whale War boycott, and the Peace Fair. Have a laugh at the anti-war napkin art of the ’60s or feel the raw weight of the hand-drawn signs from today’s protest marches. This exhibit also features striking pieces from contemporary local creators, such as the story of Coyote depicted in Jewelina Acosta’s wall-sized painting. We are also proud to display incredible loaned works from Eric Wilder, Winsor Kinkade, Kiera Poehlmann, David Bacon, Lillian Galedo, Gerri Sorkin, John Hewitt, and more.

Join ENG 503: Creative Writing for Older Adults with Lake County Poet Laureate Emerita Georgina Marie Guardado for the Fall 2026 semester at Mendocino College in Ukiah.

Credit-free class for $12/semester

This course will introduce adults to a variety of creative writing skills, providing an opportunity to recall, organize, and share life experiences through written expression. Students will have the opportunity to sharpen both creative writing and computer skills, as well as interact with a supportive community of fellow writers.

Drum Class 5:45-7pm then followed by Dance Class 7-8:30pm

~We study the same rhythm in both classes to learn it both with the drum and then the dance and study it for a full month to have the opportunity to ingrain.

~Come to drum class and follow it by dancing the same rhythm or stay and drum for the dance class. All people, all levels, all bodies are welcome

Mendocino Dance Project is offering free weekly dance classes for people with Parkinson's, their family members, and caregivers. Classes offer healthy and fun ways to build strength, coordination, balance, and stability all while using creativity and imagery to inspire movement. This program is made possible in part by The Community Foundation of Mendocino County’s 2025 Fund for Healthy and Inclusive Communities Grant.

Two icons of American roots music come together for an intimate, beautifully crafted performance rooted in storytelling and virtuosity. Local artist Gwenyth Moreland opens, with proceeds benefiting the Mendocino Dance Project. Includes music & rustic grazing supper. Cash Bar. Doors open 5pm; music at 6pm.
