The Mendocino College Agricultural Department will be holding their annual spring plant sale featuring a wide selection of vegetable starts perfect for a summer garden. They have expanded their selection of annual flowers, succulents and house plants this year. They will have several perennial fruiting trees and shrubs, strawberries, as well as hardy perennial plants suitable for a range of gardens such as CA native, xeriscape and pollinator gardens. All proceeds go directly back to the agricultural department to fund student workers, lab supplies, class projects and tools for the garden. The sale will be held on Friday April 24th from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday April 25th from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in the Agriculture Department of the Mendocino College on 1000 Hensley Creek Road in Ukiah; there is no entrance fee. We are now accepting card payments and it is our preferred payment but we will also accept cash or check.

"Momím Wené: Medicine Water" tells a story of tribal relationships between the people and their waterways through the paintings, basketry, beadwork, and regalia of over 30 Native California artists, and including the Ukiah Valley Pomo.

Nerd out on nature! Join us for a special spring day of guided exploration, observation, and connection with the natural world. A stroll through the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens becomes a rich learning experience when you slow down to notice the intricate systems that sustain life around us. This educational event offers a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of local ecology. Team up with expert guides who will lead discovery groups focused on wildlife, native plants, invasive plants, and more. The goal is to learn more about our natural surroundings and identify as many species as possible.

​Whether you are a curious beginner or an experienced naturalist, this experience promises fresh perspectives, hands-on learning, and a closer connection to the vibrant ecosystems that surround us.

​What's the Plan?
We will kick the day off with a brief introduction at our base camp — the MCBG Farmhouse and Education Center located in the Vegetable Garden and Historic Corridor. Then we will break out into "discovery groups" for walks led by our expert guides.

In April Partners Gallery is showing the mixed media works of Rachel Binah.
Rachel says:
“Having moved to Bend, Oregon to live on a farm with my family, I’ve been inspired by not only what is in my past, living on the stunning coast of Mendocino, but what is now my new home landscape of the High Desert in Oregon. I am still inspired by recycling discarded bits of paper, plastics and other materials. Some of these new pieces have sewn elements, and I am again inspired by using more colors than in previous work. My impressionist body of work is a tribute to the peaceful and meditative qualities that I feel when in connection to our High Desert.”

There is a Second Saturday Meet the Artist April 11 from 5-7pm.

Gallery hours are Thursday through Monday 11-4pm.

Join us to honor the enduring commitment that has protected the beauty and natural history of Mendocino for the last fifty years.

Museum hours: Thursday – Monday, 11AM – 3PM

Live band, with caller to teach steps used in simple country dances. Come before 7:30 to get signed in. Instruction begins promptly at 7:30. Wear comfortable clothes and smooth-soled shoes. Friendly folks, no partner necessary, everybody dances with everybody. Soooo much fun!!

English Country Dance is Fun, Friendly, Folk Dance for All! Live music with "Take a Dance" the Mendocino ECD Orchestra. No partner or previous experience necessary. Please wear comfortable, smooth-soled shoes.
Lesson at 7:30, Dancing 8:00 to 10:00pm. All dances taught and prompted.

Mendocino Theater Company presents the first play of its 50th Season, “Eureka Day”. Eureka Day School is a bastion of progressive ideals which come into question when a community crisis emerges. When both keeping the peace AND reaching a consensus becomes impossible, chaos breaks loose with hilarious and provocative results.

FIRST FRIDAY - Photo of the Month - Featured photographer John Birchard’s new image, Mendocino Sunset Panorama, 38” x 14” ultra-wide-pano landscape photo debuts starting First Friday, April 3rd, 2026 at the Mendocino Coast Photographers Gallery, Fort Bragg, CA. This exhibition continues all month.
