A Candidates Forum is set for Sunday, April 19th, from 4-6pm, at the Little Lake Grange in Willits, 291 School St.
With John Haschak not running for reelection, four candidates are vying for the open seat to become the 3rd District representative to the County Board of Supervisors. The primary election is on June 2nd, with the top two vote-getters then facing off at the general election Nov. 3rd. The 3rd District encompasses Covelo, Laytonville, Willits and surrounding areas.
The four candidates are: Buffey Wright Bourassa, Russell Green, Eric Hart, and Clay Romero. All four plan to attend the Forum, where they will present their platforms and answer prepared and audience questions. All candidates will have equal time to present and answer questions. The forum will also be live-streamed at the Mendocino Women’s Political Coalition Facebook page and possibly posted on Youtube later.
April 19th is a good opportunity to hear from the candidates in person and to make an informed choice for this important position on the Board of Supervisors. Ballots will be mailed to voters on May 4th; the last day to register to vote is May 18th, and ballots can be mailed in or vote in person by June 2nd.
The Forum is being co-sponsored by several County-wide and local Willits groups: League of Women Voters of Mendocino County, Little Lake Grange, Mendocino Women’s Political Coalition, Willits Branch Library, Willits Economic Localization, Willits Environmental Center, and Willits Indivisible.
