Welcome the Whales: Dawn Gathering at the Crow’s Nest
Welcome the Whales: Dawn Gathering at the Crow’s Nest
We will greet the dawn and celebrate the whales’ return at the Crow’s Nest. This Whale Welcome is a multi-cultural gathering that brings together tribal members, whale scientists, local ocean lovers, and whale enthusiasts to greet and thank the whales for being our neighbors, and to recommit to being good stewards of the marine environment we share. As gray whales and humpback whales return to the north from their breeding grounds in Mexico, participants are invited to observe the migration from shore, connect in community, and begin the day with shared intention and gratitude.
Followed by a Community Potluck at Xa Kako Dile.
This is a co-hosted event by Indigenous Community Initiatives, Xa Kako Dile, Flockworks, Noyo High School and Noyo Center for Marine Science
