Slink-pods and Conifers in Brooktrails
Slink-pods and Conifers in Brooktrails
The Sanhedrin Chapter of the California Native Plant Society invites you to a winter walk in Brooktrails, led by forester, Lynn Webb. This will be a relaxed walk though second growth redwood forest to look for the first wildflower of the season, Scoliopus bigelovii, commonly called slink-pod or fetid adder's tongue. We will also find the uncommon conifers California yew and California nutmeg. We can look at the recent stream restoration work in Willits Creek. The popular Parcourse/Nutmeg Trail is a 1.6 mile loop. It’s gentle with a few winter muddy patches. The parking lot is off Birch Street. Heavy rain will cancel.
The event is free, but please register ahead of time so we know how many to expect and to inform of you of cancellation if weather is inclement. Register by completing this form: https://forms.gle/TjVJLNCgmVw1XCkZ6
