Greenwood Civic Club’s 37 th Annual Elk Rummage Sale
The Elk Rummage Sale will be held again this year at Greenwood Community Center.
Mark your calendar to attend on May 16th and 17th from 9 am to 4pm. Thanks to
generous donations from the community, this event offers an abundance of treasures &
bargains for everyone to enjoy. Purchases made be made by cash, checks and credit
cards. While shopping come by the kitchen which features baked goods, drinks and
tempting homemade lunch items.
This once-a-year event is the main fundraiser for the Greenwood Civic Club. The Club
is a nonprofit made up of dedicated volunteers who generously donate their time and
effort to foster a thriving community.
Every penny earned from the Elk Rummage Sale is put to use in youth programs,
scholarships and community projects. For the young ones, the Greenwood Civic Club
contributes toward a summer month-long Children's Program at the Greenwood School.
For youth attending college or trade school, scholarships are awarded for up to four
years.
For the community, the Greenwood Civic Club contributes to projects such as
equipment for the Elk volunteer fire department, funding for Mendocino Coast Clinics,
and projects such as the reconstruction of the Greenwood Community Center kitchen
and reconstructing the entrances, so the building is accessible to all.
