Mendocino County Sheriff's Deputy Alexander Thong was arrested Sunday night on suspicion of domestic violence following a call from a neighbor, according to Ukiah Police Chief Cedar Crook. Officers responded to the scene around 9:30 p.m. and found probable cause to make the arrest. Thong was booked into Mendocino County Jail on charges of domestic violence with a traumatic injury. He has since posted bail.

Thong was known to Ukiah police due to prior disturbances and he recently was placed on administrative leave by the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Captain Quincy Cromer cited personnel confidentiality regulations in declining to comment on Thong’s administrative leave status.

Body Recovered

A body was recovered Tuesday around 4:30 p.m. near the cliffs just beyond Main Street in Mendocino. According to Captain Quincy Cromer of the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office, the coroner’s office is handling the investigation. No further details were immediately available.

Human Remains Identified

The remains discovered under the Noyo River bridge on Dec. 23 have been identified as 15-year-old Roy Mora, a Fort Bragg teen who went missing on Dec. 7. The identification was confirmed through dental records by a dentist working with the Sonoma County Coroner's Office, according to the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office.
