Members Present: David Hulse-Stephens, Stuart Campbell, Jerry Karp, Ed Keller, Len Tischler
Strategic plan outline: we added two sections to the plan adopted by the Board in November, discussed further minor improvements to be made, and highlighted the parts of the plan already in motion if not accomplished.
Next steps: Len will set up a meeting with the station staff to get their feedback and Jerry will notify programmers that a new strategic plan is being created and at some point in the future they will have an opportunity to see it and comment on it before it is finalized.
Discussed our hope that we can receive the Community Foundation grant to get help with defining action plans.
Discussed possibility of working with MCCC to create a radio/TV studio on their campus that can act as a part-time studio for KZYX. MCCC students would get experience with public radio and TV this way. Stuart will look into this further.
Discussed finding an event organizer for our fall 30thAnniversary event. Also, the May 18 event at the Sequoia room in Ft. Bragg is still on, but the talent will change. We should receive the full gate proceeds as a donation. David will follow up on a possible event coordinator in Willits.
