Last month, the first-ever congressional committee dedicated exclusively to climate change — the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis — laid out their 538-page action plan. Congressman Jared Huffman, who is a member of the committee, said the policy recommendations laid out in the ambitious Climate Crisis Action Plan, if enacted, would bring many short and long term benefits to the north coast of California. Hardening the electric grid, strengthening wildfire resilience, and bolstering water infrastructure are all on the to-do list
The plan also seeks to build a more sustainable future while counteracting environmental injustices by creating green jobs, investing in housing and solar, and focusing on contaminated communities.
