January 2, 2020 — About fifty people and ten dogs showed up at the corner of Clara and Mason Streets in Ukiah on New Year’s morning — not too early — for the soft opening of the Great Redwood Trail in Ukiah. We’ll hear from Neil Davis, the director of Walk and Bike Mendocino and the Ukiah Valley Trail Group, Andrea Davis co-president of the Sanhedrin Chapter of the California Native Plant Society, and a few of those dogs, about what’s been done on the trail so far, a vision of the future, and the general level of enthusiasm about going for a walk on crisp, clear New Year’s morning.
