September 24, 2019 — Students all over the world cut class and marched on Friday, September 20, to draw attention to the crisis of climate change.
At noon in Ukiah, the sidewalk outside the courthouse was crowded with young people holding up handmade signs with slogans like, “The climate is changing. Why aren’t our policies?” and “Make the world Greta again,” a reference to the young climate activist Greta Thunberg, who has inspired youth activism by her own dedication. KZYX caught up with a few of the marchers later in the afternoon at Alex Thomas Plaza, to find out what they hope to accomplish and if they plan to continue working on behalf of the environment.
