County of Mendocino representatives went out to Covelo and Laytonville last week, giving presentations and offering open office hours to inform communities about the new Cannabis Accommodation Districts. These are areas recently approved by the county to allow permitted cannabis operations to continue in the future, despite containing parcels previously scheduled to sunset out of the county cannabis ordinance next year due to their zone designation.
The representatives also discussed the new Administrative Permits available to apply for, which allow the county to make exceptions for applicants on certain regulations in the cannabis ordinance such as for setbacks or parcel size. There are two more meetings coming up this week on Thursday and Friday in Covelo and Laytonville open to the public, and a map of the accommodation districts can be viewed at www.mendocinocounty.org/ag.
