Celebrate fifty years of “Corners of the Mouth,” Mendocino’s legendary worker-owned natural food store. What started as a food buying club in 1975 serving the counterculture and back to the landers, evolved into a beloved hub of the local community. Learn about the origins of the Baptist church that houses the store, admire the artistry of original hand-drawn posters and recipes, and view photos of the collective’s members from the past five decades.
Willits Center for the Arts presents Visual Jazz, an exhibition of creative assemblage from Esther Siegel, Spencer Brewer, and Leslie Rich, along with work from their Assemblage workshop students. The exhibit will open to great fanfare on Saturday May 3, with art, finger foods, and beverages of your choice from 6 to 8pm, and will remain up through Sunday June 1, Come celebrate art and life on May 3 with some of Mendocino County's leading lights, along with friends, neighbors, and supporters of Willits Center for the Arts, This is a free event
We are happy to present a show of impressionistic, original oil paintings by Susan Barnes. Her work expresses her love of life, of beauty and of character. She creates colorful images of Mendocino and our beloved coast in the manner of Monet, Cassatt and Amavisca. We hope you will come by and see the collection of her lovely art that we have on display through May 27th.
We are pleased to again host the Krenov School of Fine Woodworking Graduation Show here at Highlight Gallery in Mendocino from May 17th through the 26th!
