Join us for a one-hour hike along the former trade routes of the Northern California Indigenous People and visit sacred indigenous sites. We hike every Thursday as a group to encourage health. The hike meanders along dirt roads, up and down oak-crested hills in one of the most beautiful valleys in California. We leave from the HREC office at the center of the facility. Participants must walk with the HREC/Moai leader, we stay together as a group. We start hiking promptly at 7:30 AM. Hikers who miss the group may not hike alone. We hike about 2 miles in one hour. If you are walking-challenged, please consider walking sticks. Don't be late!

Join MCBG Horticulturist Paul Ruiz-Lopez on a nature walk through the horticultural and natural areas of the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. The main focus of each walk will vary based on the season (see schedule below). Plants will be the main subject of observance and discussion, but we will also keep an eye out for animals such as birds, marine mammals, insects, amphibians, and more. The idea is to highlight the prominent “phenomenon” that is occurring in our garden and natural areas each month. Come explore the Gardens' natural history and learn to think like a naturalist!
Conifers of MCBG – February 15 and 22
Spring Coastal Wildflowers – April 12 and 26
