MAKERSPACE: FELTED LANDSCAPES
A Hands-On Program
Friday, April 17, 2026, at 3 PM (new date)

Verdant meadows, fluffy clouds, extravagant wildflowers – come experience the Zen of nature with zero hiking required. On Friday, April 17th at 3 p.m. the Ukiah Branch Library is pleased to introduce you to the therapeutic process of transforming downy wool fibers into miniature scenes of natural beauty with the cozy art of needle-felted landscapes. No experience is required – just curiosity, trust in the wool, and the willingness to stab it repeatedly to transform it into rolling hills or snow-laden mountains. Bring in a favorite landscape photo or find one on-line or in books at the Ukiah Branch Library. All other materials will be provided!

Space is limited, make your reservations by calling or coming into the Ukiah Branch Library today! This program is made possible through the generous support of the Friends of the Ukiah Valley Library. Praderas verdes, nubes esponjosas, flores silvestres exuberantes: venga a experienciar el zen de la naturaleza sin necesidad de caminar. El viernes 17 de abril a las 3 p.m., la Biblioteca Sucursal de Ukiah se complace en presentarle el proceso terapéutico de transformar fibras de lana esponjosas en escenas en miniatura de belleza natural con el acogedor arte de los paisajes hechos con fieltro de aguja. No se requiere experiencia: solo curiosidad, confianza en la lana y la disposición a pincharla repetidamente para transformarla en colinas ondulantes o montañas nevadas. Traiga su foto de paisaje favorita o busque una en línea o en los libros de la Biblioteca Sucursal de Ukiah. ¡Se proporcionarán todos los demás materiales!

In April Partners Gallery is showing the mixed media works of Rachel Binah.
Rachel says:
“Having moved to Bend, Oregon to live on a farm with my family, I’ve been inspired by not only what is in my past, living on the stunning coast of Mendocino, but what is now my new home landscape of the High Desert in Oregon. I am still inspired by recycling discarded bits of paper, plastics and other materials. Some of these new pieces have sewn elements, and I am again inspired by using more colors than in previous work. My impressionist body of work is a tribute to the peaceful and meditative qualities that I feel when in connection to our High Desert.”

There is a Second Saturday Meet the Artist April 11 from 5-7pm.
