Understanding Adult Autism by Erin Mendoza, LMFT
Avenues to Wellness presents: “Understanding Adult Autism” by Erin Mendoza, MA, LMFT. On Thursday, June 18, 6-7pm, at Willits Center for the Arts, 71 E. Commercial St. FREE to the Public.
As awareness grows about the many ways autism can present, more adults are beginning to wonder whether an autism diagnosis might explain lifelong struggles that other mental health diagnoses never fully captured. Being identified as autistic in adulthood can bring a sense of clarity, increased self-understanding and self-acceptance. It can also open the door to support and accommodations that might make life feel less overwhelming and more aligned with who they truly are. Please join us to learn more about the ways being correctly identified as autistic can help reduce burnout, increase joy, and help autistic adults thrive.
Erin Mendoza, MA, LMFT, is a late-identified autistic therapist who works with autistic teens and adults in Willits, and virtually throughout California. Erin also provides Autism and ADHD assessments for adults. Outside of work, Erin’s special interests include singing, ravens, and gardening.
