Surface Tension - movement under pressure
Surface Tension - movement under pressure
Mendocino Dance Project’s newest production in theaters uses contemporary dance to express the times we are currently living. Surface Tension explores what it means to stay human in turbulent times, giving voice to the chaos and undercurrents just beneath the surface. Artistic director Kara Starkweather weaves together a variety of themes into an evening length performance with dancers Emily Anthony, Priya Birchard, Jessica Curl, Mackenzie Rain, and Natalie Thiel-Gebheim.
Just below the surface the waters are chaotic, tossing us around from one extreme to the other. There is too much on our minds, too much to be reminded of, to consider, to witness, to discuss, to react to, to hold. How do we stay connected to our humanity? How do we stay soft and sensitive to one another when processing so much? Join us for Surface Tension as we find one another and stay resilient despite the chaos. In our shared experience we find strength, joy, and the space to finally exhale.
