SEED SHARING - Keeping Heirloom Seeds In Our Gardens & On Our Tables
SEED SHARING - Keeping Heirloom Seeds In Our Gardens & On Our Tables
FREE SEEDS! SEED SHARING!
Participate by taking home some seeds you want to plant this year.
Just show up & Bring any last year seeds you are not going to plant out, and give them to someone else.
Participate in the seed exchange by sharing seeds you have collected and saved from your garden, or will not use, we have table space to display.
Saving and sharing seeds can help you become more self-sufficient and independent, can help you build meaningful relationships with your friends and neighbors, and will help all of us to build a strong and secure food system, by growing gardens with some food and flowers from heritage seeds, land races and endangered plants.
We encourage all local gardeners to participate by taking seeds from others and offering seeds you have saved from your own garden. We want to teach and advise with proper seed saving for germination and success, as well as an understanding of what plants can be best saved and shared or replanted successfully by beginners.
There will also be grape vines and plant starts and herbal remedies for sale!
"Our mission is to conserve and promote America’s endangered and culturally diverse garden and food crops for future generations, and to share heritage, open pollinated heirloom seeds and plants with all."
Co-sponsored by your local Grange and the Mendocino County Pomona Grange, and your local library.
PS The Pancake breakfast starts at 8am to 11am - come for both events!!
