Led by Ripley JohnsonRose City Band brings a sun-soaked blend of cosmic country, psychedelic rock, and laid-back Americana. Drawing inspiration from the private-press country and cosmic rock records of the mid-to-late 1970s, the band’s sound balances laid-back melodies with rich textures and expansive, open-road atmospheres. Johnson, a favorite in the psychedelic rock and indie music communities, also known for his work with Wooden Shjips and Moon Duo, is joined by pedal steel guitarist Barry Walker, keyboardist Paul Hasenberg, and drummer John Jeffrey, whose interplay creates music that feels both effortless and deeply immersive—rooted in classic country traditions while drifting into dreamy, exploratory territory.
