North Coast Striders Running Club once again hosts the Legends of the Redwoods 5k race on July 8th at the Mendocino County Office of Education, with registration starting at 7am, and the race beginning at 8am. This non-profit event donates all proceeds to youth track organizations in our community. The Legends of the Redwoods 5k has been hosted by the Striders for decades and is a celebration of the Native American Ultra Marathon from 1927, when Native American runners ran from San Fransisco to Grants Pass Oregon to promote the opening of highway 101. Bring the whole family and enjoy this special event.
