Artists
Maldon Meehan
Maldon Meehan is an Irish dancer, teacher, and tradition bearer with over 35 years of experience. She began dancing in Portland and later deepened her study through years of summer immersion in Ireland. Set dance remains her first dance language and a guiding force in her work.
She holds a Master’s degree in Ethnochoreology from the University of Limerick and is a graduate of The Evergreen State College. Maldon teaches and performs Irish set and sean-nós dance throughout the United States and internationally, both in person and through her online teaching community.
At the heart of her work is a love of welcoming new dancers—the moment when something “clicks” and joy emerges in movement. She continues to explore the living tradition of Irish dance, sharing it with communities wherever she goes.
