AIM 500 Mile Spirit Runners
AIM 500 Mile Spirit Runners
The Coalition to Save Jackson Demonstration State Forest (JDSF) invites the public to
attend the AIM 500 Mile Spirit Runners’ run in Jackson Demonstration State Forest on April 12th from 10:00 a.m. -3:00p.m. to support local Tribes in their efforts to protect and preserve the critters, trees and waters in this forest, which has
been their ancestral territory for thousands of years.
The event will begin at Camp One at 10:00 a.m., with the run commencing at 10:30, and is intended to connect the ancestors and the trees with the prayers of these runners and to re-energize the Movement with
these prayers. This is a prayer run, not a protest.
The trail includes steep areas and will take place in stages. Runners from the public are invited to join as
appropriate to their abilities, in harmony with the Spirit Runners. The gathering will be addressed by speakers
while waiting to receive the Runners on their return.
Everyone is welcome to enjoy this special day in the forest, surrounded by beautiful redwoods. Camp One in
JDSF has a lovely creek running through it, where kids can play. It really soothes the spirit just to be there. See
you on Sunday, April 12th
