Abigail Summers and Jenny Watts Cello and Piano: Please come enjoy an Afternoon Concert Fundraiser August 4, 2-4pm in Willits Center for the Arts’ Beautiful Great Room!

Together Abigail and Jenny will once again combine their talents for this concert of piano-cello music that includes pieces by Bach, Vaughan Williams and Fauré.

Abigail Summers and Jenny Watts first met in the 1990s in Willits, Mendocino County. Discovering their shared love of Classical music, the two would put together house concerts every few years, to which friends and family were invited.

Abigail grew up in the English countryside, playing piano and cello from an early age. Her performance studies took her to the Royal College of Music in London where she added recorders, viola da gamba and baroque cello to her repertoire. Locally Abigail performs regularly with the Symphony of the Redwoods and the Mendocino Music Festival Orchestra. She can also be found playing string quartets at weddings and private parties around the North Bay or teaching cello and piano in her studio in Sebastopol. She is currently studying Music Education at Sonoma State University.

Jenny grew up in Burlingame, CA, where she studied piano privately for many years. Her early training was in classical music, but also became interested in jazz and musical theater during her high school years. After moving to Willits, she accompanied various groups and events including the High School Vocal Ensemble. She also worked with local choral directors, accompanying their choirs and several musicals including Grease, Oliver and Gypsy. In 2022, the Duo put together a program for a fundraiser at the Willits Arts Center which was also performed at Oakmont where Jenny and her husband Dave have been residents since 2018. Abigail moved to Forestville in 2017, and so the musicians are able to continue playing together and creating new programs for their old and new homes.

Tickets are $20 and will benefit the WCA and available for sale online at willitscenterforthearts.org or at the door.
