Historian Dot Brovarney will speak about her latest book, "Mendocino Refuge: Lake Leonard & Reeves Canyon." Stories about this special part of Mendocino County include a Native Pomo man who lobbied Congress, logging that took place in the 19th century, 20th century efforts to save the redwoods, and generations of independent women.
