Our initial task is to review and suggest changes to the MCPB bylaws.  (Policies must follow the bylaws, so bylaws must be the first task.).

The current bylaws were written in 2010.  Our approach is to simplify and clarify the bylaws and also to be sure that our bylaws comply with Federal and State laws, some of which have changed in the intervening years.  In addition, the membership recently voted to change the election of Board Directors from annual to bi-annual (every 2 years), and this needs to be changed in the bylaws.  

Our progress at this meeting was deliberately slow and careful, as will be the future meetings.  We agreed to meet once a month for this task.
