The preliminary hearing in the murder case of Alyson Sanchezllanes has been rescheduled to March 17, 2025, following a court proceeding on Tuesday.
Sanchezllanes, a 17-year-old from Fort Bragg, died of fentanyl poisoning on January 17, 2024. Kailand Ignacio Garcia, 19, faces charges of second-degree murder and possession of a controlled substance for sale in connection with her death.
During Tuesday's hearing, Garcia’s defense attorney, Justin Peterson, requested the delay of the preliminary hearing, originally scheduled for January 27, 2025, citing the need to review “voluminous discovery” provided by the prosecution.
