Mendocino Complex Fire Grows Overnight

Calfire is now calling the two fires – The River Fire north of Hopland and the Ranch fire NE of Ukiah- The Mendocino Complex. The Ranch fire is heading east towards Lake County. 

 

Calfire reported this morning, the River Fire is 6,000 acres and the Ranch Fire is 3500 acres and both are at 2% containment. Seven firefighters have been injured. One residence has been destroyed and nearly 400 are threatened. Old River Road and University Road are closed. Mandatory Evacuations: 8000 block of River Road, South to the intersection of Highway 175 from the Russian River east to the Ridge above Highway 175, within the North South points. These evacuations also include all driveways and homes located between the North South points.

 

Evacuation Advisories: Blue Lakes, Bachelor Valley, Witter Springs, North Scotts Valley Road from the 7000 block to Highway 20, Highway 20 from the 6000 block to the Lake County line and into the Blue Lakes area.
