The Spring Quiet Drive for the KZYX Building Fund has begun

Calm view Mendocino coast

E-Newsletter Spring 2022 article by Renee Wilson

The KZYX Quiet Drive has just begun, and will be running through the month of April. The Quiet Drive will be followed by a “loud” drive in the beginning of May.

Throughout the day you will hear encouraging messages of support from many of the programmers we all listen to and enjoy, as well as community members who want to see KZYX succeed in the transition to Ukiah.

Relocating to Ukiah is a bold and ambitious move. It will take the support of our community to see it through. KZYX is such an important resource in our county, and even beyond. Building a better studio with greater signal strength will benefit us all, and will help us continue to have local public radio on the air whenever we want or need it. The movement of keeping public radio alive is strong in Mendocino County.

Your support makes it all possible.

Not everyone wants to see KZYX move out of its original “homegrown” studio in Anderson Valley. So many people worked together to make it all happen in the first place, and many more have come together over the last 32+ years to keep the lights on and voices on the air.

I feel the nostalgia as well. It is such an honor for me to be a part of moving KZYX forward into the future. We all move forward one step at a time, and we need to take our radio station with us. We are moving forward together. I hope you will join me in supporting the new Building Fund.
