Relief carving and printing demonstration with Juan Fuentes
Relief carving and printing demonstration with Juan Fuentes
Longtime Chicano printmaker, teacher, and activist Juan Fuentes will demonstrate wood and linoleum relief carving and printing techniques. These techniques illustrate the various printing methods used by the artists in the Museum's current exhibition on Mission Gráfica, the most sought-after political poster center in the Bay Area and a meeting point for artists from the Latin American art world. The exhibit is comprised of dozens of screenprints from various artists, reflecting both a sense of community and political advocacy.
