Opening October 9 at the Mendocino County Museum, Exploramos Juntos/Exploring Together, will showcase Nuestra Alianza’s success in preserving and sharing the vibrant culture of our Latino friends and neighbors. This bilingual exhibit, guest curated by Gracialla Botello Gaona, brings together private collections that highlight the summer education program, Plan Vacacional. Taught in Spanish, this beloved and much anticipated youth program is centered on the history, art, culture, and sports of Mexico, and features photography from this year’s summer program by Lucia Gonzalez Acero and Matthew Caine, with original costumes and crafts made by families involved in the program. Explore the history, services, and significance that Nuestra Alianza provides through their organization. Biographies of community and board members will tell the story of how they have championed the 22-year-old organization. An opening celebration will be held Sunday, October 9 from 12:00 – 3:00 pm. The exhibit will be on display through February 5, 2023.
