Performances of Bertolt Brecht’s satirical play about a strongman’s rise to authoritarian power will be held at Willits Community Theatre November 7 and 8. “The Resistible Rise of Arturo UI” is about a gangster who takes over control of the U.S. Midwest vegetable trade during the Great Depression, with implicit parallels to a situation that hits closer to home today. The mixed-media, sit-down reading by 15 actors will be performed on Saturday, November 7 at 7:00pm and Sunday, November 8 at 2:00pm. Attendance is by donation. The WCT Playhouse is located at 37 West Van Lane in Willits.
