'A Painter Gives Back' - New artwork by James "Max" Maxwell
Cobalt Gallery invites you to take a visual tour of Fort Bragg and its environs via the artwork of James Maxwell, aka Max. A fixture on the local art scene since the 1970's he'll be presenting his latest works along with some oldies but goodies thrown in for FUN.
This show is a must see for all who love our slice of the North Coast! It includes Max's whimsical imaginings gleaned from night time dog walks through the alleys of Fort Bragg, seasonal interpretations of Pudding Creek and reverential paintings of the Inglenook Fen's flora and fauna. Also included are a sampling of his 3D works which also mix whim with a sense of exploration that yields unexpected and sophisticated results.
Opening reception is on First Friday December 1st from 5 – 7pm, followed by Open Studio Tour on Dec. 2nd & 3rd from 11 to 5. The show runs through December. Gallery is open 1-5pm Thurs.- Sun. or by appointment. For more information (707) 472-6421.
