Starting today, there is a heat advisory in effect for inland Mendocino County, and also in Lake County, from 11 a. m. this morning until midnight on Saturday. Cal Fire has also issued an excessive heat warning, a high fire danger Thursday through Sunday, hot temperatures, low humidity, very dry fuels.
Temperatures will peak later today and tomorrow. Triple digit temperatures, hot and dry winds. We're also seeing hazy skies and moderate air quality, continuing for the next couple of days. Smoke from wildfires burning in North of Mendocino County, and Oregon is drifting into the region, creating widespread haze.
The Mendocino County Air Quality Management District reports that air quality levels are currently in the moderate to unhealthy for sensitive groups range. Officials advise that individuals with heart or lung conditions older adults and children should limit their time outdoors.
