The California Natural Resources Agency held a panel of Native American speakers to highlight traditional ecological knowledge this week. It’s part of a speakers series hosted by Secretary Wade Crowfoot.

While some tribes are able to supplement their ancient wisdom with the latest scientific techniques, others have tiny preservation departments working with state agencies about the effects of government policies.
