Today we'll be hearing from Vicki Patterson of Ukiah.  Born in Manhattan in 1945, Vicki migrated to Mendocino County in 1969.  She lived on the Mann Ranch outside Ukiah in the early 1970s,  when it was a kind of "Esalen North," hosting seminars with great thinkers and philosophers like Joseph Campbell and Alan Watts.

Soon after, Vicki was hired as the director of the first Indian bilingual program in the state:  a Spanish, English, Indian program.  It began her life-long journey of discovery and connection with the Native Peoples of this county that continues today.
