David Rawlings' latest album, Poor David's Almanack has just been released from Acony Records. It contains ten original songs which timelessly blend classic rock, bluegrass, country, and old-time mountain music, showing the world yet again that Dave Rawlings belongs among the best American songwriters. This music could have been written during any decade of the last hundred years. He's melded the traditional music of Appalachia with the folk music of the 60s and brought a modern freshness to it with his low-key guitar prowess, and his all-star cast of musicians including Gillian Welch, Ketch Secour, and Willy Watson.
