Black Lives Matter and Trump Rallies coincide on Willits’s Main Street

June 22, 2020 — The blazing afternoon sun that shone down on Willits last Friday didn’t stop local residents from taking to the streets to show support for the causes they believe in: Juneteenth and the Black Lives Matter Movement, and Reelecting Trump in 2020. The two groups stood across from each other for hours, neither wanting to be the first to leave the scene. Although the messages that came from both sides of the two lane road were largely distinct, there was one sentiment that held true for both groups. Both the Trump supporters and those out to support Black Lives spoke of feeling silenced, frustrated, mistreated, and most of all, ready to stand up for what they knew to be right.
