Fish trap sculpture in the Wild Gardens

August 15, 2018 -- The Wild Gardens at the Grace Hudson Museum in Ukiah have a new sculpture. It's a large steel fish trap, modeled after the woven and interwoven baskets used by indigenous people along the Russian River. Artists Bruce Smith and Kendra McKee are auto machinists by trade. They built a new set of tools and figured out a whole new way to operate as they created this one-of-a-kind piece, based on an ancient art form.
